in the Philippines
is a gathering of family,
relatives and a lot of friends
in the cemetery
to pay respects
to the beloved departed.
Even though All Souls' Day (November 2)
is still a day away,
it already feels like it
and most people
regard these two days
as visiting days to the cemetery.

There's a big cross (Image 1)
somewhere in every cemetery
where those who can't go home
to where their dead are buried
can offer their prayers here.
The visit starts very early
in the day of November 1
and even days before
there are those who already visited
to avoid the enormous crowd expected.
And the images above is all
on Calamba Cemetery in Cebu City, Philippines
and it's a pretty big and organized
place for the dead.
There are local officials
and policemen patrolling the entire time
to ensure public safety.
There are also
stalls inside for foods
so those wanting to dine
will have the immediate convenience.

But for many years already,
music and liquor are banned
so that people can spend their time
praying in the cemetery
without the disturbance and noise.
Nighttime is also a good time
to visit since it's much cooler
than in daytime
and anyone will be amazed
at the display of electric lights
and candles all over.
These two important days,
November 1 and 2,
are important for Catholics and others
to always remember the dead
in great respect
and to relieve the memories
they left behind.
Believe In Yourself
All Souls' Day
is a great reminder for everyone
that sooner or later on
we will go back to the dust,
and the breath of life
will go back to God
who gave it to us.
