Holy Thursday or Maundy Thursday - commemorates the foot washing (Maundy) and Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles, as described in the canonical gospels. Here in the Philippines, part of the tradition is Visita Iglesia (Spanish for "church visit"), the practice of visiting seven churches and recite the Stations of the Cross and this is usually done in the evening. Visita Iglesia can also be done on any day of the Holy Week.
Good Friday - Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus and his subsequent death. It is commemorated with street processions, the Way Of The Cross (Station Of The Cross or Via Crucis), the commemoration of Jesus' Seven Last Words (Siete Palabras) and a Passion play called the Sinakulo.
Black Saturday - commemorates the day that Jesus' body lay in the tomb and the Harrowing of Hell. The Harrowing Of Hell is the triumphant descent of Christ into Hell (or Hades) between the time of his Crucifixion and his Resurrection when he brought salvation to all of the righteous who had died since the beginning of the world.
