The Must-have Attitudes Of The Poor

2/15/2015

Anywhere in the world there are countless number of people who are poor and in need with minimal or little income and barely survive.
They are not only found in the provinces
where work and moneymaking endeavors
are not readily available
but also thrive in the cities
where there are plenty of opportunities to make a living.
But because most have never been to school
because they couldn't afford it,
their chances of getting better lives are significantly reduced.
The poor have a place in society
even when they are neglected most of the time.
But they are not to be despised
because they are oftentimes
products of corrupt societies and governments
who care nothing
but their lusts for power and money.
When all the country has
is a corrupt government
and oppression of the people,
then there will be more poor people
than can ever be counted.

The poor are not able to afford the basic needs
especially food, clothing and houses to live.
And so many of them are living literally in the streets
where they take shelter
under the shade of buildings and other structures.
They survive by begging from passers-by
and by scavenging garbage and waste areas
for food and other junks they can use.
And they can't find a decent job anywhere
for companies require high standards such as good education
which they couldn't pass.
They are miserable in their living conditions
and they suffer from hunger and thirst day by day.
They clothed themselves in worn-out and ragged clothing
that barely protect them from the heat of the day
and from the cold during the night.
A lot of them turn to sidewalk vending and street selling
going from one street to the next
and still they barely make it everyday.
And worsening their situation is the fact
that their is a national law
and an accompanying local ordinances
that prohibit begging or mendicancy anywhere
by anyone no matter how poor or needy he is.
Very sad!

Being poor is not bad at all especially
when one tries to work hard to earn a living
and always looking for ways to get through,
and no one has the right to look at them
with scorn or ridicule.
Even if all he does is go through piles of garbage
to look for anything he can use or sell,
still that doesn't give anyone
the right to belittle or worse,
trample him down.
Begging or mendicancy,
though very much prohibited by law,
should be permitted at times
when there's no more chance of making it around
and people should take note of this
and do something to help
no matter how small or little it may be.
A peso or a small piece of bread given
will go a long way for a poor man,
and it will not cost much.
But doing it all the time irritates people
who are working their asses out to earn.
And that would be very displeasing to them.

Being poor is not a shameful thing,
and it's not degrading and humiliating.
We should always remember
that no matter where we are in the world,
there will always be classes of society,
there will always be poor and rich
and those that are in the middle.
Not everyone can be rich,
and also the same way,
not everyone can be poor
but wherever one belongs,
he should be content and happy.

The poor must have a humble and kind heart
so that people will be helpful and generous to them.
They should never have the nerves to be arrogant and proud
even when they are looked down and ignored at times.
They should be upholding with deepest humility.
A poor man with a good heart will be looking forward
to a bright future ahead of him because
God will lift him up as he very well deserves it.
But a poor man with arrogance and pride in him
can look forward to nothing but more trouble and misery.
His situation will never improve,
as a matter of fact, it will worsen.
How would anyone help him if he has an attitude?
A poor man who is good-natured
attracts a lot of charitable and benevolent hearts
who are willing to alleviate his miserable life.
But a wicked poor man
will just be adding sorrow and pain
to his already sorrowful and painful life.
He will never get away from there
and he will be trapped until he changes for good.
The rich who are arrogant and proud
have good reasons to be acting that way
because they rely heavily on their wealth and riches,
but when the poor acts with arrogance and pride,
it's completely illogical and unreasonable.
What do they got to be proud and arrogant about?
Nothing, as in, not a single thing!
It's so wrong for them to act that way
when all they wish for is a good life
or to afford the basic needs
and if they want people to help them in their needs.
There are those who
even fight against the rich
for they don't want to be stepped on.
But it still is no good.
God always helps the poor
who are humble.
They just have to be patient
and live with decency and integrity.
They should refrain from cheating,
robbing or stealing from anyone
just to get what they want
or make it through the day.

When things seem hopeless,
they can always turn
to the local governments for help
even if it means going back to them
over and over again.
The local and national government
have big responsibilities and commitments
for the upliftment of the poor.
They don't have the right to neglect them
as long as they are in power.

Besides being good-natured and kind and humble,
the poor should have the time
to be religious and prayerful
because that's the best thing
they can do to improve their lives.
As a matter of fact,
that's their number one hope
only if they have the faith needed
to make their dreams
of being free from poverty come true.
And being religious is not just for the poor,
but for everyone else.
When the rich have very little time to go to church
because of all the businesses they have to attend to,
the poor always have all the time in the world.
And that's their biggest advantage over the rich.
Becoming religious and prayerful
makes them closer to God
who always sees their troubles every moment
and is always ready to help them when they deserve it.
That's why it is very ideal for them
to have a good attitude
and spend a good amount of time in the church.
The church will always be a sanctuary and a refuge for all
especially for those who are needy like the poor.
The poor who are humble, kind,
 goodhearted and who are religious
will receive a future reward of a happy and comfortable life
that affords all the basic needs.
An abundant life with all the happiness
and contentment in the world
is what they very well deserve.

Think about this:
The rich and the poor are the same in the eyes of God,
and He treats them both fairly.
The sun, the moon and the stars
all shine for the rich and the poor,
so there's no need to worry.
Being rich is not an advantage over being poor,
and being poor is never an underdog of being rich.
It's just all about the money,
and money is nothing in God's sight.
The only thing that matters is being good, kind,
happy and contented
and everything else positive
no matter how rich or how poor a person is.
