Christmas is a great time
to share our blessings with one another most especially with those who have little or none at all.
Money, food, clothing
and anything else can be given. It doesn't have to be big or expensive, but the thought of having the heart to give and share something is what matters. Anywhere we are in the country, there are always people who are needing this kind of treatment from us. Whether we live in the city or in the provinces, there will always be poor and needy people in our lives, and it's all up to us to care for them or not. Even when we don't have so much at times, we can always give a little of what we have. And in this time of the year when love is all around and filling up the entire atmosphere, giving and sharing should be a part of the holiday celebrations. It is also our way of thanksgiving to the Almighty for everything we have gotten throughout the year. And we need not forget that giving alms to mendicants or beggars maybe considered. Although we are aware of the Anti-Mendicancy Law of the land, we can bypass that for the whole month of December because we have a great reason for doing so. Helping the poor and the needy is good karma, and it's like depositing our money in the bank with a big interest in the future.
Those people can't pay us back,
and they don't have to. God will pay us back in time. We should always bear this truth in mind. What we give, we will receive it back in God's time. And the more we give, the more we receive. And as they say, there's more happiness in giving than in receiving. Maybe a lot of us are not having much this time of the year, having little money or none at all, and that we can't possibly give to anyone anything. We have bills to pay and so on. But we have to remember that it's not the money that counts all the time. Say, when a beggar knocks our doors, we can give clothes or food or anything else which may be of some use to him. Or when we can't give money at this time, we can work hard that we can give money the next time. It's just like that. The important thing is we make an effort to give. And giving even a little goes a long way. All through our lives we have so much to be thankful for not just during Christmas but the whole time we're alive. First, for the gift of life, for giving us the chance to be born. Then for having family and friends around, for having good health, etc. Actually, everything we have is worthy of thanksgiving to the Almighty. And giving thanks for the guts and the nerves to defy the Anti-Mendicancy Law.
