Giant crabs
are choice foods here in the Philippines and anywhere else in the world.
They are expensive in the markets
and ordering them in restaurants could cause you some fortune. But they abound during fiestas and festivals anywhere in the country for they are the centerpiece of the table much like lechon (roasted pig) and large shrimps or lobsters. Catching them is as easy as loading meat or fish as baits inside a fine-meshed net into the sea where crabs gather to eat the bait and their claws get caught in the net so you can pull them up and gather them in a bucket or pail.
Or if you add up
some fun and adventure catching big and strong crabs packing more of their delicious meat, then you can always go to some mangrove areas and find them there hiding beneath the roots or partially submerged in the muddy seawater. Learn to catch them with bare hands by holding their behind so their claws can't reach your fingers.
