The Sinulog Festival in Cebu City, Philippines
happens every 3rd Sunday of January,
and this time,
it will be on January 17, 2016.

to the Little Child Jesus
brought to the city in 1521
by Ferdinand Magellan,
the Portuguese navigator,
which is now enshrined
at the Basilica Minore Del Santo Niño.
Concerts and shows will always be around
days before the Festival up to the Festival itself
where everyone can party and have fun.
A singing contest called Sinulog Idol
will be held nightly at the Fuente Osmeña Circle
starting January 8, Friday
up to January 14, Thursday
for the Grand Finals.

will be held at the Waterfront Hotel Cebu
on January 13, Wednesday.
And there will be free concerts
at the Fuente Osmeña Circle every night
starting January 8, Friday up to the 17th.

with a grand fireworks display
at the Cebu City Sports Center at around 7:00 P.M.
and around 12:00 M.N. at the South Road Properties.
Popular celebrities also come here
to join in the festivities.
The Sinulog Festival 2016
is expected to draw more visitors to Cebu City
because another great event is happening
just few days after the Grand Festival on January 17
which is the 51st International Eucharistic congress.
It has long been a tradition of Cebuanos
and Filipinos all over the country
to visit Cebu City
to celebrate this event year after year.
There will be masses at the Basilica everyday
starting at 4:30 AM and in the afternoon towards the evening.
There will be solemn early morning processions
like Walk With Jesus on January 7
and Walk With Mary on January 15.
There will also be an afternoon procession in the city
on January 16 Saturday
before the Grand Parade on Sunday.
The Grand Parade features Floats
from participating companies and groups
as well as dancing contingents
who are from different parts of the city and the country
and will culminate at the Cebu City Sports Complex
or the Abellana Sports Center
