When you want to be healthy and fit,
workout and exercise are part of the process. Diet alone can't give you a healthy and fit body but you need to move, carry weights and sweat it all out. Combining diet and workout or exercise is a must. But the problem is how to sustain such tiresome routine.
Lifting weights on a daily basis,
depending on your program, involves a lot of strength and stamina and energy, etc. The heavier the weights, the more tiresome it becomes. In my case, I've been working out and lifting weights almost everyday for more than 15 years and I still say it's very tiresome every single time. Gym instructors always remind members to never work out everyday to let muscles relax and recover from the strenuous lifting and movements. And that working out everyday is overdoing it and is causing laxity making muscles appear soft and not firm. But I don't follow that. Workouts and exercises are energy-draining routines but since they're necessary for good health and long life, fitness and well-being, they should be maintained for life by young and old alike. Here are some tips to keep you going and never give up for the rest of your life. 1. Include workout and exercise in your daily routine. In my case, if I don't work out or miss working out in a day, I don't feel comfortable at all and it feels hot all over. I feel like there's a lot of sweat trapped all over me that I have to release right away. And every little move I make, it makes me sweaty and messy. Also, I feel not as strong as when I work out. It's really not good at all. Not working out feels like I'm slowing down, and also feels like it's slowing down my metabolism and makes me weak. And so doing my other routines will be slower than usual. Workout and exercise give me a fresh start, with renewed energy, stamina, etc. I usually do my workout and exercise right after I finished my household chores. All those chores are my warm-ups. 2. Always remember your goals and keep reminding yourself not to lose them. Keep your goals in mind and never forget. You workout and exercise in the first place because you want to be healthy, feel good, look good, be strong, be active and alive, etc. All those things will keep you going. 3. Include up-tempo music in your sessions. One of the best companions for your sets is music especially those up-tempo tracks. Techno, house, electronic, etc. or those that make you wanna dance and not give you gloom or sadness, you should listen to with your headphones or ear buds or from any boom box you have around. While ballads, love songs, or ambient music make you sleepy, up-tempo tracks keep you alive and kicking so you last more in your workout sessions.
4. Make someone your inspiration.
Lots of people I know, including myself, want to sweat it all out on a daily basis because they want to be like their idol celebrities may they be local or hollywood. They want to have those rip abs and toned arms and legs that's why they keep going. They don't mind the hardship; they just want to endure or else they won't end up like their idols. 5. Don't drink cold water before, during or after workout and exercise. Drinking cold water is never good anytime of the day most especially when you're engage in your routines. Remember that we are warm-blooded beings, and our being warm-blooded keeps us alive and well. Cold water disrupts the normal processes in our body and slows our blood circulation. If you're thirsty mid-session, you can drink warm or a little hot water instead but never straight from the fridge. Do you remember the last time you had cold water during or after workout? How did you feel after? You feel more tired and sleepy. But if you drink warm or hot, you'll feel alive and refreshed. Try to compare. 6. After workout and exercise, take a warm or hot bath. Don't shower cold water. If you don't have hot shower, you can boil water and add it to your bucket or pail so that it will be warm or hot. Cold shower is just like drinking cold water. Both are bad for your body. 7. Shuffle And Reshuffle The Order Of Your Sets Do not do the same order of sets everyday. If today you start with your legs, then tomorrow begin with your arms or mid-section. Or you can do sets of exercises for your legs, then follow it with sets of exercises for your arms or mid-section. The main idea here is not to focus on one particular body part for long periods or you'll get tired and bored easily. As a last note, people who are on a daily workout and exercise are doing a great and wonderful job only few people in a crowd are doing. It's an achievement actually, I should say. It's very hard and becomes harder to keep going for years. It takes away a lot of your time, energy and effort but it doesn't make you rich at all unless you're a celebrity. But if you're just the normal guy around, and you're doing it for many years now, then you have to congratulate yourself!
