How do you show
true kindness, humility,
respect, generosity, etc.?
To be truly good is to do it
with all gladness and sincerity
with no hint of hypocrisy.
where you will be tested if you are truly good.
This is a common occurrence.
You go to a restaurant
and order all the food you want.
The restaurant is clean
and is properly maintained,
the waiters and waitresses are courteous,
the service is good
and the food is all worth
the money you'll be paying for.
You're trying to find something wrong
but can't find any.
There's nothing to complain about.
You are satisfied with everything,
and so what now?
You give a lot of tips,
a generous $100.
What you're doing is all good
and it shows how generous you are.
You give a kind of reward
because everything you experience is fine.
Not every diner gives tips
and even when some did,
they gave just a little.
You go to another restaurant
and the food is not that good at all
according to your taste,
the waiters and waitresses are all arrogant,
the service is slow and poor
and the restaurant itself
doesn't offer a great ambiance?
And the price?
You think it's too much
and it's not fair for such a dining experience.
Will you be mad?
Will you even think of giving a little?
Oftentimes when this thing happens,
there'll be complaining, harsh words, insults, etc.
And obviously,
you will not dine back to the restaurant.
But honestly,
if you are truly good,
you will remain the nice, kind
and humble person that you are
even if the situation feels revolting.
You will still give a tip,
and the amount of tip you'll give
will be the same amount you give
when you go to that restaurant
where you are all satisfied.
You don't care if you don't get
what you deserve.
That's what you call
pure, unadulterated goodness
that is very hard to do
and very impossible for others.
You won't mock or ridicule,
no insults or harsh words,
without the slightest hint of ego and pride,
but only a pure good heart.
And that's extraordinary!
And now the big question is:
Can you do something like that?
Or have you done things like that?
