Do you fear Friday the 13th?
Most people do. But if you have a strong faith, you must not fear at all. But why should you? Friday may just be like any other day of the week, where you go about your business or work, but as some always say, all days are not created equal. Sunday is considered family day, where families and friends can get together and more importantly, the day preferred to go to church. Monday gives you the blues most of the time maybe because you never got enough of the weekend. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday give you the most energy for doing your job or keeping busy with business. And Friday makes you excited for the weekend that's why you're pretty fast with all your tasks. And Friday night is the best time to go out and have some fun and even extend up to Saturday. Every day of the week, the same sun rises, the same sun sets. The same moon you see though it changes its face every night. You look up and you always see the same sky, you breathe the same air like the others. So what is there in a particular day that sets it apart from the rest?
And what is there
in the number 13? You can't see this number when you take the elevator, the 13th floor is named 14th skipping the number 13. Even in apartments, door 13 is named 12A or something else but not 13. So hard to explain, but to simply put it, it's not the same as 1, 2 or 3. So there must be something about it. For me as Catholic, I know from the Holy Bible that Jesus was crucified and died on Friday, the day before the Sabbath or Saturday. But on Thursday night, he was eating bread and drinking wine together with his 12 apostles making Him the 13th. Friday and 13 here never happened at the same time. If there were instances when Friday and 13 collided, then they won't matter to me at all. Nowadays, the fear of Friday the 13th is still there causing people to be extra careful on whatever they do, especially when they're driving on the road and even not boarding a plane at all. Some don't even wanna go out fearing some danger might come along the way. And avoiding going out in groups that will number 13 in all fearing they will meet an accident, or the 13th guy will be harmed in some way. Sounds ridiculous but there are many who still practice this particular belief in the misfortune or bad luck associated with Friday The 13th. But if you are a good guy, if you are practicing your religion and you believe that there is a Supreme Being who made the earth and the whole universe, then there's nothing else to fear. That Supreme Being is the Only One you should fear!
