Is it to be super rich, to be super intelligent
or super good-looking?
With all your dreams since childhood,
what have been your biggest?
Maybe you never dreamed of it at all.
with a submersible to explore the uncharted,
you can climb the highest mountain on earth
and take great selfies,
and you can own vast fortunes and business empires
that employ millions of people.
But what is the hardest thing for anyone to achieve?
Certainly, not one of those above.
Let's take a moment to reflect
and take a deeper look at ourselves.
We know we can be intelligent
if we strive for it.
We can be handsome or beautiful
to make everyone fall in love.
We can be ultra rich if we work hard day and night
and be determined and persistent.
But we can hardly or impossibly be good!
Yes, to be good is the hardest thing to do on earth!
Being good is not just being nice and kind to everyone.
It involves so many things
that are contrary to most desires.
We have to be patient,
positive in every aspect,
generous, respectful to young and old,
benevolent, charitable to those in need,
caring for the poor and the aged
and those who are neglected and less fortunate.
We also have to be honest,
forgiving to anyone who wrongs us,
gentle in our attitude towards one another,
humble, helpful, considerate and so many more.
And not to mention
we should be following
all of God's commandments!
And you have to do them all at once.
If you are nice and kind
and friendly to the poor
but you don't help them in their needs,
what purpose is your being nice and kind?
If you do business legally and pay all your taxes
but you don't give your employees what's due them,
do you think you're doing something right?
And if you're very rich and you're doing charities,
giving money to various foundations and organizations,
are you doing something extraordinary
when you just give what you have to spare of your riches?
Remember that story in the New Testament
when Jesus said
that the poor woman who gave few coins
actually gave more than the rich
because she gave everything she had to live on?
if you're nice and kind, generous, benevolent,
respectful, helpful, sharing, sincere, honest,
humble, patient, gentle, good-natured and all
but you don't know go to church to attend Holy Masses,
do you think God is pleased with all your goodness?
Of course not!
Put God first in all you do
before you do them all to your fellow.
So simply put it:
to be good is to put God first everyday of your life
and not to sin at all!
You don't have to perfect and never make mistakes
but your life should be all good deeds
and never any wrongdoing.
With those in mind,
who can be good?
Who can perform all those?
only very few in time.
