We know it's part of the changing seasons, and the change in climate patterns.
And now we worry because it's not the normal and usual we used to.
When we were younger playing with other children in the rain,
it was so much fun and our laughter was pure and never-ending.
we immediately came right under them so the water fell on our heads
and bathed joyfully as if we were under a waterfall.
That was incredibly refreshing especially when it didn't rain every day.
Even when there were occasional thunder and lightning,
we just didn't care much at all, and we played as if we were never bothered.
And I will always remember those happy and fun times
when I used to slide on the smooth surface of concrete part of the lawn!
That was totally amazing even when many times I hurt my head
when the concrete surface became too slippery during rain.
But we were always the carefree,
careless beings under the pouring waters from the clouds,
a sight so good to observe and a memory so hard to forget.
It was a great part of childhood that will never be taken away from us
and one that forever reminds us that being a child is one of the greatest events in life.
What is rain and how does it relate to us?
The rain is simply water falling from the clouds when they can no longer contain it.
It refreshes and cools the whole land after
a generous amount of the sun's fiery rays have bathed it.
When the ground is dry then rain is a much-needed element
to nurture nature's bountiful living plants and other living beings.
Water is life and it gives life to every thing on earth.
Life will never be without it.
It's just not needed for it ruins our day like
when we're out in the meadows under the morning sun.
We are on the ground with some friends
having a picnic sitting on a mat spread on the grass.
We are enjoying the whole thing when suddenly it rains down
and everything just turns into a mess.
Or when we're out in the streets wearing our usual get up
looking like a hottie or a hunky gorgeous guy
when suddenly the sky turned dark and rain pours out of control.
We get wet fast and there's not even a place near us to take some shelter.
Imagine what that make us look now.
We're like a day-old chick that's swimming in a bowl of water in the mud!
We're totally ruined and what seems to be a great day
has now turned into the worst! What a total waste!
The rain can bring us so much life and joy and everything,
but at other times, it causes us trouble and even nightmares.
A lot of us say that rain is like the pouring blessings from Above
and it should be cherished.
And that the abundance of rain simply means that we are blessed with so much.
On the other hand, some say that rain is like the tears in our eyes
when we are sad, lonely, sick or depressed.
And that rain represents unhappiness and pain.
In view of these things about rain, we can simply say that rain
is both good and bad or positive and negative.
It all depends on our situation the very moment the rain comes our way.
We are like the desert that misses the rain, or the dry riverbed that wishes
it had flowing springs from the mountains so fishes can swim again.
But at some point rain is pain and misery itself
and its presence is never to be wished at all.
It's like the raging waters of a flood that devastates the city
and everything else that comes its way.
It's the one that breaks our hearts and causes our heartaches.
Rain is not only welcoming at times, but also can be unforgiving.
So now we're left with the choice of how will we let rain affect our lives.
Will we take it as a blessing, a refreshing water during hot summer days,
or will we take it like a curse making our lives bitter? It's all up to us.
But for me, I will live by the day looking forward
to having rain for this life is never perfect,
and when it does become perfect one day, is still light years away.
Rain can be in the morning, afternoon or evening. I don't care.
I just have to deal with it when it comes and I will never fear.
I will have to make the most out of it.
When unexpectedly it comes when I'm down, then I will never let it make me weak.
And when it comes when I'm up, then I will let it flood around me and swim on it!
