to survive or live on,
and hardly make ends meet.
They earn less even when working hard
the whole time
and at the end of the day,
they're still hungry and thirsty
and having a little money.
and the future is not bright.
And still they persist
because there's nothing more
that they can do.
There are poor who are humble and kind
and deal with others with respect and sincerity.
There are those who are arrogant and opinionated
and fight back when they feel oppressed or humiliated.
But there are few of them
who are generous and sharing
even with the little they have
and this is something extraordinary.
I noticed inside the church
an old woman who dropped few coins
as her offering right in front of the altar.
I could see her as slovenly as a poor could be
obviously having so little in life.
She has been selling candles to devotees
inside the church
and beside the roads around.
I saw her slept under buildings and structures
just like other street people and children.
Few coins is little for rich people
to offer for the church,
a tiny fraction of their riches
and something they can easily give away.
But for poor people like her,
they're so much already,
sharing so much of what they have,
giving away a large part of their savings.
And she didn't even realize it.
Just think about this:
If you have a million bucks
and you offer a hundred to the church,
your offer just 1/10,000th of what you have.
A poor woman who earns a hundred a day
who offers 5 bucks,
offers 1/20th of what she has
and that's so much more than the rich man's offer.
The more you have,
the more you should offer.
The old woman was poor and old
but definitely with a heart of gold.
