When looking for a traditional Filipino place to dine that's fast, clean
and one that doesn't drain your wallet, you don't have to be in the city for such places. Entoy's Bakasihan is a simple, authentic Filipino restaurant by the beach serving Filipino favorites such as fresh seafood, larang and bakasi - an eel that's living in shallow saltwater plentiful in Cordova, Mactan Island, Cebu.
This is a karenderia with a great view of the sea and a great feel of the sea breeze
in Kampay Beach, Barangay Buagsong, Cordova, Mactan Island, Cebu. No fancy interiors in the restaurant, just simple shack with freshly made dishes. Customers frequent this place especially at lunch or in the afternoon and there's an ample parking space around so no need to worry about your cars. If you get lost while going there, just ask the ever-friendly people around.
Traveling up the hills of Cebu, especially going up the transcentral highway,
you find a great Filipino restaurant that has become favorite among bikers or drifters. It's named Belen's Inato in Gaas, Balamban, Cebu. All-time favorites Pochero, Balbacua, Manok Bisaya and many more are served here.
This part of Cebu is cool because it's up in the hills, and overlooking the other side
as far as the island of Negros on the west. The food, the service, the location are all but recommended for those who want to experience dining away from the hustle and bustle of the city that doesn't break the bank or empty the wallet.

These Christmas Lights right here at the Mandaue City Plaza,
which is right across the City Hall and St. Joseph Church, are amazing at night with people coming for pics and videos. One is shaped like a ball or a mistletoe, and another one is a cube like a gift box. There's also a tall Christmas Tree and a lot more lights.
This is a perfect place to hang around with family or friends,
or go on a date with someone special. Sit around the benches you can find within the plaza and spend the night immersed in these wonderful Christmas Lights. A good weather will produce a starry night which will be the best time to visit the Mandaue Centro Plaza.
Here comes the time of the year again just before Christmas
when Filipinos gather very early in the morning to attend the Holy Mass for 9 consecutive days called Misa de Gallo beginning on the 16th of December up to the 24th.
Hundreds of devotees come to the church as early as 2:00 AM
and that's few hours before the church opens. This time, I arrived at the church right before 3:30 AM and there were already people waiting outside the gates. There were some rains but they didn't last long and not that heavy. The Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu has always been drawing a huge crowd and the biggest crowd during the 1st day and the last day on the 24th of December. |
