Fire Clouds

On the early morning of May 28, 2015 in Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur, Mindanao, Philippines, when the sun was rising on the east, and the birds were feeding with the early worms, the sky above the house turned yellow because there was a cloud that looked like a burst of fire out of nowhere.

It went forth to the west
from its starting point in the east
like a flame coming out of the dragon's mouth.
Unbelievably appearing in the sky
like it has not ever since.
Clearly they were just clouds
with the rays of the rising sun
showering all along their zones
that magically transformed into fire clouds.
With this amazing sight,
one stops dead in his tracks staring up
until the clouds have gone away.
But the clouds remained what they were for minutes
before they were dissolved by the fiery sun.

What have the gods been up to
in the early morning of that day
when they turned the clouds into a blazing fire?
Were they giving humanity
a fateful sign or warning?
Surely,
they were sending a message
no one can understand completely.
It could be a message of doom or destruction,
or something that will bring purification.
But it could also mean something positive,
like it's telling the world that the day
is hot and lively
and not something cold and boring.
A fire can burn
and no one can tolerate its heat
but it purifies and gives out light.
Whatever they were for,
only the gods knew.

There maybe times when clouds look like fire
when the sun's rays hit them at the right time
at some point in their sojourn in the sky
but not as fiery-looking as these.
