look close to each other
even when hundreds of millions
โof miles apart.
when two astronomical objects
or spacecraft
have either the same right ascension
or the same ecliptic longitude,
usually as observed from Earth.
It involves either two objects
in the Solar System
or one object in the Solar System
and a more distant object,
such as a star,
or two planets,
the Moon and a planet
or the Sun and a planet.

Here in Cebu City,
early morning of November 13
had a gloomy, dark skies
making it impossible
to witness the rare event.
But thanks to social media,
images and videos
are aplenty.
were able to capture stunning images
and clear videos of the early morning sky
as the two bright planets
appear close to each other in the horizon.
Venus and Jupiter in conjunction, less than 1/2 degree apart as seen over Lake Michigan from a viewpoint near Milwaukee early Monday morning. It's a line of sight illusion, the planets are actually hundreds of million miles apart. pic.twitter.com/riXyf0Lrmz
