A rarely-seen giant squid visited the Toyama Bay in Japan around Christmas Eve, and hanged around there for a few hours before it was guided back to the ocean. It's not known why this ocean behemoth came close to shore. A dive shop owner who happened to be in the area, took a dive close to the creature and took some incredible footage. He said that it look lively and not damaged, spurted some ink and even tried to entangle its tentacles around him. This giant squid is considered small or young for its species at only 12 feet long because adult ones can reach 30 to 40 feet long.
