The Marian Procession
was carried out on October 13, 2017 in Cebu City, Philippines.
Thousands of people
mostly Marian Devotees joined the procession in Cebu City, Philippines that started around 9:00 PM of October 13, 2017, a Friday The 13th. It started at the Capitol grounds then proceeded to Osmeña Blvd. then it all ended at the Basilica Minore Del Santo Niño. As early 7:00 PM, huge crowds had already gathered even when the weather was anticipated to be rainy. Authorities shut down Osmeña Blvd. to allow the event to proceed without disruption. Floats of the Blessed Virgin Mary were paraded with flowers and lights and even with smoke effects.
And all along the route,
the 4 Mysteries Of The Rosary, The Joyful, The Sorrowful, The Glorious and the Luminous were recited. And as the procession was halfway through, some heavy rains came and soaked everyone who were not prepared enough to take umbrella or raincoats with them and scrambled to take shelter in the buildings and structures on both sides of the boulevard. The Marian Procession was a glorious success with thousands of people walked the stretch from Capitol to the Basilica. And a lot of us went home almost or around midnight already since transportation like jeepneys and taxis were hard considering the volume of passengers.
