Happy New Year 2017!

Happy New Year 2017 everyone!
May the new year be better
than the other years gone by.

2016 was a good year,
actually every year is a good one,
but the way we live our lives
made it bad.
We were so involved with the world
and all the material things
and our outlook in life,
our disposition
and the little we know about life
had mislead us into thinking
that the year was not good at all.
We were not prosperous,
we failed in so many things
making us believe the year was unlucky
and made us unfortunate.
But we failed to look at ourselves deeply
and we never got to reflect
that we were miserable 
because we sinned so much
and we were filled with wrongdoings.
If only we were good
then everything else 
would have been good too.
The earth and the whole universe
were created by The Almighty
perfect in all ways
and not a single part that isn't.
The earth is a great place to live
but because we didn't take good care of it
it never gave us a great life.
We struggled and toiled every single day
to make it through.
No matter how hard we worked the past year, 
we still were not satisfied 
with everything we had.
We always wanted more
and so much more.

2016 will always be a great year
no matter what people say
and how people feel about it.
The bad ones that happened
will always be lessons learned
and were experiences
that will shape our destiny and our future.
What 2017 will bring
is not for us to know
and nobody knows but God alone.
A lot of people worry so much
that they fear for the worse in 2017.
The climate change,
the wars, the crisis, etc.
seem to be never-ending threats to humanity
and what lies ahead seem darkness and gloom.
But bear in mind all the time
that there is a Supreme Being 
out there and everywhere
on earth and the whole universe
Who is watching every moment,
Who is aware of our needs
and Who is ready to listen to our prayers.
