Russian President Vladimir Putin
has inaugurated a massive railway bridge called the Crimean Bridge constructed since February 2016. It is 19-kilometer (11.8-mile) long, making it not only the longest bridge in Russia but also in the whole of Europe. Trains will be carrying approximately 14 million passengers yearly across the Crimean Bridge. The Crimean Bridge is actually a pair of parallel bridges, one is a road bridge and the other is a railway bridge. President Putin inaugurated both bridges - the road bridge was inaugurated last year on May 15 and just this December 2019, on the 23rd, the railway bridge was inaugurated.
