Who's The Ideal One For You?

​You long for the one
you call your true love or soulmate
or the one who is meant for you. 
​But you have to wait and be patient.

The Ideal One For You

You search high and low,
far and wide
and you don't care no matter how long
it takes to find the right one.​
You dream  of being together 
the very near future and no later
because you know
you'll be the happiest then.
You can't wait for the day 
when the two of you meet somewhere
and both your eyes sparkle 
and your hearts beat faster than before
and inside out you know
the one meant for you 
has finally arrived!

But who's your ideal one,
and what are the qualities or traits
that you expect?
If you're searching for someone
who will complement you
and make you whole,
what do you look for?
Surely,
you're not expecting
the perfect someone
with no flaws and all
because that would be impossible.

The one you're looking for 
must be someone like you,
someone much like your whole being.
If you're the introvert type,
you opt to stay at home 
than party and hang around,
then extroverts don't match you.
Or if you're the religious
or prayerful type,
then atheists would be repulsive for you.
You can't be with someone 
who is your opposite
for the rest of your whole life,
contradicting you in many ways.
The ideal one for you
is always the someone
who is very much like you,
who blends with you,
who will be with you
all the way through,
be it ups or downs,
highs or lows, 
the someone who will never leave you.

Money, riches,
power and wealth
will mean nothing to you
if you don't find the right one.
All those can't make you truly happy
for they are just worldly,
material things
that will never last for long.
Beauty and brains are ideal
but when it comes to love and loving,
when it comes to
harmonious relationship,
they don't seem to matter at all,
at least for me.
What matters most
is a humble and kind heart,
and a cheerful and happy attitude.
And at the end of each day,
you would be longing for someone
who you love
​and loves you back.
